Financial Analyst/Energy Scheduler (based in Getzville, NY)

Financial Analyst/Energy Scheduler
Location: Getzville, NY

Responsibilities include:

Learning the intricacies of how to purchase, bid and schedule in the various interconnections located in the United States
Performing Cost Calculations/settlements for wholesale transactions
Analyzing and developing cost structures for forward market transactions
Analyzing retail market alternatives in comparison with wholesale market transactions

Qualifications:

Degree in finance, accounting, engineering or other quantitative or competitive experience
Applicant should like working with numbers and have excellent spreadsheet skills. Access database knowledge is a plus
Ability to learn multiple jobs and process large amounts of information rapidly
High level of personal and professional integrity

Job Duties:

Working with the ECM head of operations and analysts, the intern will lead/support several key initiatives, including:

Learn how to purchase, bid and schedule in the various interconnections located in the US.
Learn & perform cost calculations/settlements for wholesale transactions
Update & maintain ECM’s Market Information System
Update & maintain ECM’s Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS) Tracking System
Update & maintain Renewable Energy Certificate (REC) Price and Trend Tracking System
Conduct regular Green-e Standards Research and Tracking
Support clients Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Inventory Management
Support Clients with Financial calculations and presentations for Sustainability projects

Qualifications:

Rising junior or senior working towards a Bachelor’s degree with an accredited college or university. Preferred major in finance and accounting. Will also consider those majoring in energy and sustainability with a strong mathematical background.
Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (transcript required)
Applicant should like working with numbers and have excellent spreadsheet skills. Access database a plus.
Ability to learn multiple jobs and process large amounts of information rapidly.
Strong organizational, problem-solving & analytical skills, able to manage priorities and workflow.
Flexibility & willingness to work within constant changing priorities with enthusiasm.
